It was Shakespeare who posed the question “what’s in a name?” and our name describes what we’re all about. We are excited about the fact that Christ’s death on the cross was the biggest act of grace this world has ever seen and the greatest gift ever given to humankind. God’s grace is shown in his desire to save people who reject him, to forgive those who are guilty and to bring home those who are far off: all by the cross.

We’re passionate about this message of grace, and we hope you’ll experience more of the life-changing, hope-giving power of the cross of Christ when you come to visit.

The Background Story

Grace Community Church began at the end of 2005. It was initially led by David Ollerton through the Waleswide initiative, with the support of Brackla Tabernacle.

We’re an independent church and our emphasis is upon relevant Bible-exposition based preaching and teaching, charismatic experience, and community-centred outreach. Our goal is to see Christ glorified in Porthcawl through the hope and life giving power of the good news of Christ.

Tom Clewer is the pastor of the church, who leads the church with his wife Laura, with Neil and Margaret Matthews, with Ross and Ann Milligan, and with Rhodri and Katie Thomas. The overall leadership of the church is maintained by five elders: Tom, Mark, Neil, Ewan and Ross.
